Castleknock travelled to
Knocklyon, looking for a positive result after their last cup meeting with the side.
Castleknock were first to start the attack and put
Knocklyon under pressure. When a free kick was awarded to the visitors 15 minutes into the game, Omar stepped up to shoot at goal.
His kick hit
Knocklyon's defensive wall and Robert took the opportunity to strike the ball past the keeper to make it 1-0 to
Castleknock.
The game continued with pressure from both ends, Andy and Dylan were kept very busy in defense but dealt quickly with any danger from the home side.
Castleknock had many chances in the first half and had victory in their sights when Kevin took a long range shot from outside the box and made it 2-0 to
Castleknock.
Castleknock's fortune changed soon after when Andy was taken off injured with a knee injury.
Castleknock had to arrange their back line with
Mustafa standing in for Andy in defense.
Knocklyon managed to get a lucky break and and got one back to make it 2-1 at half time.
10 minutes into the second half,

Castleknock with some work to do to get the 3 points that they promised their manager!
Castleknock got the game started but were under pressure again and looked to be going behind when team captain
Zuhdi managed to save a shot that was heading for the top corner.
The pressure continued from
Knocklyon, but
Zuhdi managed to pull off another great save to keep
Castleknock in the game.
Things were not looking good for
Castleknock, Omar was taken off with an ankle injury, and just when
Castleknock had thought they had gone in front with a goal from
Mohammed, the referee disallowed it and awarded a free kick to
Knocklyon!
Castleknock were not finished though, John had broke free and had a goal in his sights when he was viciously taken down in the penalty area. The
Knocklyon defender was sent off and a penalty was awarded.
John took a great penalty but the goalkeeper was a good match for it and managed to turn it wide for a corner.
An excellent game which ended 2-2, and a great performance by all.
Another hard decision this week but man of the match goes to
Cormac who was unbeatable today in defense. Well done
Cormac!
